Mr Viral Shah has extensive experience including sub-specialty training in joint replacement, trauma and paediatric orthopaedics in Japan and the USA, along with St. Vincent Hospital, Sydney and The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne.
Mr Shah has a special interest in less invasive joint replacements, sports injuries and complex fractures. He also has extensive experience in paediatric orthopaedics. Viral is committed to delivering high quality medical care. He believes in incorporating technology into his practice and uses computer navigation in his knee replacement surgeries.
He is also actively involved in medical education and is currently a member of Royal Australian College of Surgeons Educators Committee. He is currently an associate lecturer at Melbourne University and has been a conjoint lecturer at Flinder’s University. He is also a member of several professional organisations.
Viral places a strong emphasis on the importance of clear and honest communication with patients. Consulting appointments are spaced out to allow thorough discussion time regarding treatment options. Mr Shah consults and operates at Shepparton Private Hospital, Goulburn Valley Health and Cobram District Hospital.

WHAT TO EXPECT

At your first consultation

It will involve discussion about your symptoms and examination plus further plan of management.. Consulting appointments are spaced out to allow thorough discussion time regarding treatment options. A detailed history and examination is done at consultation so please wear appropriate clothing to make it easier for examination. Mr Shah will discuss with then discuss with you about the diagnosis or possible diagnosis and treatment options including surgical/ non surgical options. You can request for more information and take an informed decision about treatment options.

At Subsequent Consultation

It involves review of your progress in recover or further discussion about management options discussed at first consultation. Non-operative and Operative management options will be discussed and Mr Shah will suggest best option in his opinion. If surgery is required than you will be put on wait list at Shepparton Private Hospital, Goulburn Valley Health or Cobram District Hospital.
