Consultation Fees
The cost of your initial and follow-up consultations will be explained at the time of booking. Fees may vary depending on, i) Whether it is a new consultation or review appointment. ii) The complexity of your condition, iii) Whether your appointment is in-person or via telehealth.
Medicare rebates apply when you have a valid GP referral.
Surgical Fees
If surgery is recommended, you will receive a detailed quotation outlining all expected costs including our gap fee..Your surgical fee estimate may include: i) Surgeon’s fee. ii) Assistant surgeon (if required). iii) Anaesthetist’s fee.
Each component will be broken down clearly so you know exactly what to expect.
Private Health Insurance
Your level of cover determines how much of your procedure is funded by your insurer. Variables may include: i) Whether you have full or restricted hospital cover. ii) Any waiting periods that still apply. iii) Your hospital excess. iv) Prosthesis and implant benefits. Our administrative team can assist you in contacting your insurer to confirm your entitlements.
The AssistantOut-of-Pocket Costs (Gap Fees)
Some procedures may involve a gap payment. This depends on the difference between the fees charged and the amount reimbursed by Medicare and private health insurance. We are enrolled with gap cover scheme with most of insurance companies We will inform you of any expected gap well in advance of your procedure so there are no surprises.
WorkCover, TAC & DVA
Patients who are covered under WorkCover, TAC or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) may have their costs managed through the respective agency. In most cases: i) Approval is required before surgery ii) Additional documentation may be needed. iii) Our team will assist with the administrative steps.
Payment Methods
We accept: - EFTPOS - Credit card payments - Bank transfers - Approved third-party payments (WorkCover, TAC, DVA) Payment details and timelines will be included in your fee estimate.

How will I be charged and how should I pay?
The bills will come from different sources at different times:
- Booking fee
The policy of this practice is to charge you a booking fee. This varies from procedure to procedure, and need to be paid at the time of booking your operation, in order to put your name on the operation list. Of course, the booking fee will be deducted from the surgeon’s fee. - Surgeon fee
You will receive an itemised receipt soon after the operation and this should be lodged with Medicare and your private health insurance for a rebate. If the bill is sent to you, you will pay the bill to the doctor and then to take the invoice to Medicare to get the Medicare rebate back. If you have private insurance, you then take the invoice to the health fund to obtain a further rebate. - Assistant and Anaesthetist’s fee
This will also be issued soon after the operation. This should be dealt with similarly to the surgeon’s bill. - Hospital fee
If you have an excess on your private health insurance policy, you will be required to pay this on admission. If you do not have private health insurance, you will be required to pay part or all of the anticipated hospital costs on admission. The remainder will have to be paid when you are discharged.
