Do I need a referral to see Mr Shah?

A referral from your GP, physiotherapist or another specialist is recommended so you can claim Medicare rebates and also to facilitate we receive important background information about your condition.

How long will I wait for an appointment?

Wait times vary depending on the clinic location and urgency of your condition. Acute injuries or rapidly worsening symptoms may be prioritised. Please let us know if your condition requires urgent attention.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring, i) Your referral (if you have one) ii) Any recent scans or radiology reports. iii) A list of your current medications. iv) Details of previous surgeries or medical issues.

Arriving a few minutes early is also helpful for first-time patients.

Do I need scans before I come?

If you already have X-rays, MRI or ultrasound scans, please bring them with you. If imaging is needed, we can arrange this after your consultation.

Will my condition be diagnosed at the first appointment?

Sometimes additional tests are required before a full diagnosis can be made.

Will I need surgery?

Not necessarily. Many conditions can be treated effectively with non-surgical measures such as physiotherapy, injections or activity modification. Surgery is recommended only when it is likely to offer meaningful benefit.
